The commitment
ISO 14001:2015
A certified environmental management system
Among our governance choices for Corporate Social Responsibility, since 2020 we have been joining the ISO 14001:2015 compliant environmental management system.
The standard is based on five basic principles: environmental policy, planning, implementation and activities, and management control and review. The implementation of such a system – based on the “Plan-Do-Check-Act” methodology makes it possible to prevent pollution, and reduce the amount of waste produced, energy and material consumption.
Internationally recognized, the ISO 14001:2015 standard is a voluntary certification specifying requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS).
Treedom
ALA Trees Forest
ALA Forest is more than tree planting; it is a tangible sign of our commitment to creating a positive impact on the planet.
With the planting of 1000 trees among Africa and South America, we add one more concrete action to help build a healthier and sustainable environment, and to contribute to the well-being of local communities.
Solar Panel Installation
Committed toward self-generation of energy
Our energy consumption mainly comes from the electricity needed to cover the activities at our global sites.
Starting in 2022 at our San Maurizio Canavese (TO) plant, we have introduced a photovoltaic system with the aim of self-producing some of the energy we use.
Waste management
Packaging using recycled materials
ALA has been adopting for the past few years a policy of reducing waste related to packaging materials entering and leaving the warehouses in Pozzuoli, introducing recycled materials (cardboard and polyethylene) wherever possible.
Plastic Free Office & Paperless Warehouses
Ecological initiatives in our sites
In 2020, ALA launched a campaign to make offices plastic-free by installing in the Italian offices purified water dispensers and distributing personalized thermal water bottles to all employees.
Also, plastic cups for the vending machines have been replaced with environmentally friendly ones.
In 2022, paperless warehousing management started with the introduction of the SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS) module in our systems.
Since then, SAP allows to control all warehouse operations, from goods entry to redistribution, including key intermediate processes such as picking and packing operations, inventory management, and resource utilization.
Certification & Awards
At ALA, we are proud of our commitment to excellence, widely recognized through several prestigious awards and certifications.
Such awards are a reflection of our strong standards and industry expertise and keep us motivated to continually strive to deliver unparalleled performance and service to our Clients.
